Here she is... asleep without swaddle or paci. My baby girl appears to be a quick learner and I've think we've taken a step or two around the corner on the sleep issues. I anticipate several more tearful nap-times...but things are definitely looking up! I at least know now that she CAN do it...the question remaining is WILL she?! ;-)

Yay!!! Victory!! Seeing that really makes me want a video monitor--I've been wanting one for a while but to be able to see them just would be awesome during fits like she had yesterday...to know when to go in and when to leave them is the hardest part for me!
I am Mary's friend and have to comment on several things:
1. Great job on her blog make-over 9kudos!)
2. Been there with the whole swaddle, paci thing. My #2 is now over a year, but we quit swaddling at 5 mos and just quit sleep sacking him Sunday! The paci thing didn't get better until he could find it himself (8 mos) and we kept literally 10 in there. It wasn't worth it to me to fight that battle b/c he simply would NOT sleep without it. I have read almost every sleep book out there b/w my 2 and I think it just takes time. We invested in ear plugs and great sound machines! They both sleep like champs now, which is great, of course. Sadly, we live in a flat in Scotland, so our poor neighbors would have probably appreciated some plugs and machines of their own. Oops.
