This week, amidst a seemingly permanent Lysol fog in our house (courtesy vomit virus), I looked up and saw that Tatum had suddenly become a toddler...
I can distinctly remember wishing more than ever when Trevor was this age that I could press that pause button. It may have had a bit to do with the fact his sister's arrival was only days away- even so, the feeling is the same this go 'round. I know it really only becomes more fun the older they get... but (sigh)... you know what I mean.
My girl also has wild hair. She wakes up looking like Don King... good stuff. Speaking of wild-she is also my little adventurer. While it may take her a while to warm up to a new situation, once she's comfortable, she's a bold little thing. She's not one to hang on to Mom's apron (ha!) strings, and is quite content to go and go and go...and never look back:
She's had a few running lessons... she has the best coach:
He's a great big brother and takes good care of her. In this one, he's "fixing her car." Trevor's best quality is his ability to be as happy, if not more, for someone else to be having fun. I grew up with a big brother who was the same way...and it's absolutely one of my favorite qualities in both of them. Case in point: he's just as happy to give her a ride in the car as he is to ride himself. As he pushed her tirelessly up and down the sidewalk, he'd say "Tay-Tay driving mommy!"
When I looked at my little man, pushing his sister... I couldn't help but remember this little guy:

Same sidewalk, same job, same jeans even...but wow, such a different kid. Somebody better find that pause button, and soon.

Sweet post! Love love her pigtails. And I can relate on the wild hair...Lord knows I can relate. Trevor is such a good big brother! Love them!
Oh Heather...I feel the EXACT same way. I took both boys to the park yesterday and I was sitting on the bench holding Rustin while Ryder just maneuvered himself around all of the equipment. I thought to myself...this time last year, I had to follow him like a hawk because he would have fallen off of one of the openings at the top...made me sad that he doesn't need me following his every move anymore. But, I guess that is a good thing. I do look forward to them being able to interact a little more like Trev & Tatum do. Yesterday I was checking my email and they were both in the playroom. I heard Ryder say "Here you go Baby"..and the music from his little kick light thingy mabob came on. I snuck upstairs to take a peek and he had put it right in front of Rustin...warmed my heart and gave me hope!
Hope you guys are feeling tons better...I hate the vomit bug!! We have to go to McKinney today for me to see a site & I'd say we should meet at a park...but you guys spend the day getting well! Maybe we can plan for that next month (I always have to go around the first week of the month).
