Trevor has a new friend. His name is George- the curious variety- you know the one. Until today, Trevor was only occasionally friends with George. He'd let George drive his tractor, sit with him at his little table, but the next minute, he'd be on the floor, under Trevor's feet. It's safe to say their relationship was a bit dysfunctional.
Today, they bonded. Trevor was giving me a hard time about changing his diaper, so I invited George to my super fun diaper changing party.
Mom: "Trevor, is George poopy?"
Trevor turns to retrieve George from a nearby chair, laying him in front of Mom...
Trevor: "Be Still George."
Trevor then lays down beside George and Mom begins Trevor's diaper change. Trevor coaches George throughout the process...
Trevor: "Be Still." "Lay Down" "Good Giiiiirl!"
I then decided Trevor would get a huge kick out of me putting an actual diaper on George. We have a few tiny sized diapers lying around, so I grabbed one and put it on the monkey. That's when I think it happened. That's when I think George crossed the line into a semi-real being in Trevor's mind. They are now inseparable.
At lunch time, Trevor grabbed George and promptly sat him in Tatum's highchair. I then lifted Trevor into his, and placed his tray in front of him.
Trevor reaches his hand over toward George...
Trevor: "Pray?" "Pray?"
Trevor reaches for Mom's hand, Mom helps George join in, and holds hands with the stuffed Monkey while we blessed the food.
Trevor sat in absolute delight, sharing his lunch (which ironically included bananas) with his new BFF. I couldn't help but think that a scene like that is probably the type of thing that makes a mom think "wow, maybe he needs a sibling?" Except he has one already...and he likes George better.

Great story! I think George is much better than purple baby for a little boy! ha!
