It must be said, that I am having an unbelievably fun time with my baby boy! I don't know if maybe his personality is really on fire right now? Or maybe I'm coming out of the fog of the first trimester and can finally enjoy the little every day gifts the days bring (I hope, I hope)! Trevor is now pulling up on EVERYTHING. I think he can even pull to standing with only the help of a wall. While I LOVE to see him accomplish new things, it also means he's into a lot of "trouble." Here are this week's bullet points:
Tuesday:
- Finds mommy's cup on the living room floor (duh Mommy!) and proceeds to "drink" it, therefore covering his entire head and chest in soda. (notice the faint brownish tint to the left side of his shirt?)

- Within 5 seconds of having his wet clothes changed, he pulls to standing on the coffee table, falls, and hits his head- leaving his first goose egg. (I don't know why I feel compelled to take pictures of this type of thing...perhaps too many years working for CPS?)
Wednesday:
- (Daddy's birthday, by the way) Finds dog's food and water bowl, mommy finds dog food piled on the floor, Trevor wet once again, banging metal bowls together with glee! At least he didn't eat any (I don't think).
- Mommy standing at sink cleaning bottles, Trevor playing with pots and pans on kitchen floor. Mommy turns around to find Trevor standing up at the stove! Mommy has no idea how he got up there undetected.
Thursday:
- Trevor discovers he can climb the TV armoire! Mommy walks in to find Trevor's feet peaking beneath the cabinet... the once nicely stacked DVD's are scattered at his feet. He bangs the TV screen in delight.
- Trevor pulls up on end table in living room, Mommy realizes Trevor is suddenly taller than the table and all things on top of the table are fair game. Mommy rescues Trevor from near disaster as he grabs for very heavy metal candle holder. (End tables are now free from all temptations except lamps).
Friday:
- Trevor maneuvers over the dog's bed and behind the end table with what must have seemed to be a very interesting "string" in his sights. Mommy rescues Trevor from near disaster of pulling lamp onto his head by the chord. (End tables are now also free from temptation of lamps).
That brings us to today, and thankfully we've been free from all near disasters! Okay, so upon review, it seems I've painted myself to be the world's most unattentive mother. While it's true, I've done my share of dumb things (hello, soda on the floor?!) I know I'm doing my job... I'm just thankful they don't come out of the womb moving this fast!
We took Trevor to the local athletic center to hang out in their super cool pool. He splashed, and splashed, floated the lazy river and even went down a water slide (with Daddy!). Our friends, the Buhls, were there and Ben and Blake were fearless in the water!

I have to laugh! All of the same things are happening at the Smith house...I found Ryder halfway up the stairs this week..it never crossed my mind that he could climb up stairs. Found him in the shower with drain plate off and leg down the pipe. All I could think as I approached him was that Matt was out of town and if I couldn't get his leg out, I'd have to call the Fire Department. Luckily it came right out! We've had dog food in our mouth this week, broke a USB off in the computer tower and I don't know what it is with that TV. I have said No, distracted him with other toys and he can not resist from banging the screen! I have the absolute most respect that you are doing all of this while going into your 2nd trimester! Can you imagine what it will be like when "Deuce" gets here and Trevor is walking around! Yikes!!! LOL!
It keeps getting better. I have had to replace my keyboard twice. He knows how to open the cd tower (that we bought esp. with a lock on it) and get out every single blinking cd and dvd. Every remote in our house has the back broken off, because he likes to lick the batteries. And today he asked for goldfish, so I gave him a little cup to eat. TWO! seconds later he dumps them on the floor, says, "Ta Dah, I did it!" like it was the neatest trick ever. He also locked his friend in his bedroom last week. I literally had to bust the door open to get her out. Keep enjoying him!
ps- I finally did the math on the girls I babysit. They are three days away from being exactly one year apart. totally best friends and they play together so well. Your guys are going to be great! : )
pss- glad to hear you are feeling better. I am cruising in the 3rd trimester and what I think is the worst part. Enjoy it while it lasts : )
At story time today, we read a book called, Oh No, Anna- about a little girl who keeps getting into things. It made me think of you! : )
Too, too funny....brings back all my memories of Hunter that little. Awww!!!
And although I forgot to take a picture of it, Morgan got her first bump too. I picked her up after changing her diaper. She is a hip sitting baby. So I put her on my hip, facing outward. Go to walk out of her room and just didn't step away from the door enough for the both of us and sure enough I totally bang her hit right on the edge of the door, causing her to scream, scream, scream and then have this little red line on the corner of her head almost is the same place as his.
One time when Hunter was this age, he was in the kitchen with the other kids playing. All of the sudden he was standing a chair at the table holding on to the back of the chair bouncing his legs as if he were in the crib. All of the sudden the chair falls over backwards trapping his fingers between the floor and the chair and causing him to his his face smack flat on the floor, causing the biggest egg ever on his forehead. Went and had him checked out and all was okay, but he had two black eyes afterwards.
Its just the beginning.
Just last summer at my brothers, Hunter jumped off the top bunk with the ceiling fan on, gashed his head open. ER room with stitches. Yea we have been to the ER room about 5 to 6 times now. BOYS will be boys!!!!
