The Unexpected Reward...

This little girl has had an absolute iron will from day one. Being her Mom has often required divinely-provided patience and persistence as I help her learn to manage those strong emotions. There were times when she was two or three-years-old, when I'd see her clench those fists, and glare at me with that little munchkin face and I thought I'd wave the white flag. I was just too tired to wage that war another day. Then days like today happen, and I see that strength show up against an entirely different "opponent." When it's cold, wet, muddy, and her asthma is acting up. When the other team is up 3-0 and my girl keeps tripping and falling. She gets back up. again, and again, and again. She's losing the game, but she still plays to win, because that's what she's made up her mind to do. I pray she always confronts life that way, I could not be more proud of her.
