There have been what feels like a million changes happening in our house over the summer, and it's not over yet! Most notably, Nathan started a new job which requires a pretty hefty commute. We've all been spoiled over the past several years that his previous office was a short drive across town. He was able to stop by the house to meet repairmen, or if he left something here, and let's not forget those times he rescued me during a big, bad migraine that wouldn't quit. The good news is, he loves his job. He's working with a great group of people, who value all the same things we do. It really is exciting in the best possible way.
This year brought a new school for our "big kids" and they absolutely love it. They were blessed with wonderful teachers and a really supportive school. They come home loving it more every day. I wasted a LOT of time during the summer worrying about how they'd transition. So far, all is great. And in the meantime, I'm getting a LOT of one-on-one time with the little guy in the house. He isn't too thrilled about Trevor and Tatum being gone so much all of a sudden, but it's provided a nice change of pace around here. We've been able to take things down a notch, to live in preschool land for a while. And none of it is lost on me this go 'round. There is a simple bliss that comes with the stage Trey is in right now. Today, he was content just to play, play, play in the bath tub. He's got a wonderful imagination, and I could sit and listen for hours as he played out the scenes in front of him. And I have the privilege of being here. That's not lost on me either. Nathan works every day, now commutes every day, and makes a million sacrifices so that I can be here, to hear this, and to be his buddy when no one else is around. And I'm so so grateful.
