Mexican Monday...

Happy Thanksgiving! Okay, I'm admittedly late on the well wishes, but I do hope you all enjoyed pushing the "pause" button on the daily demands and spent time cultivating a thankful heart. We had a simple holiday, spent time with family, and enjoyed time together. After Thanksgiving, and Black Friday, we are now enjoying "Mexican Monday" in our house... it's that glorious day when all the Thanksgiving staple foods have been devoured and we can now sit down to the spicy, cheesy, loveliness that is Mexican food. I suppose I should admit- Mexican Monday actually began on Friday this year. Somehow it gets pushed back a little earlier every holiday season. My aim is to one day replace Turkey with fajitas. I'm not holding my breath.

The weather has been absolutely perfect this year. We spent the weekend putting up Christmas lights and playing outside. We took the kids to a nearby park yesterday and you would have thought we transplanted them in the deep woods. I heard talk of bears hiding behind thick patches of leaves. Imagination was in no short supply- the best evidence I've seen, that my kids are standing squarely in their "happy place."

This little guy is becoming brave...
and reminding me more and more of this other guy I know:
(this pic of Trevor, was taken in the same tunnel when he was 2)
He loves to flash that toothy grin.
Just say "I'm gonna get you!" and this happens:
These two are still best buds.
My guys- and that big, beautiful, Texas sky.
Little monkeys... enjoying the reprieve from the concrete jungle.
What a beautiful day.
