5 weeks to go!...

It's so hard to believe my "babies," as they were once called, will soon be known as my "big kids." As the days tick by and we approach the day we'll meet our baby boy, I'm often struck by how "big" they really seem. Trevor? Well, this is by no means his first rodeo and we've been thinking of him as a "big kid" for as long as I can remember. It's not until we look back at pictures of our "big kid" welcoming his baby sister that we realize a 14-month-old really isn't all that "big" at all! As for Tatum? Well, let's just say this baby brother is probably the best thing that ever happened to her. Without him, we'd surely be tempted to look at her as our "baby" forever. She carries the title well... and her brother's arrival will certainly involve a bit of de-throning from her perspective. Even so, she surprises us daily at her quirky little perspective on the world and it's truly a joy to watch her become a little lady.

She said she was dressed for school...
(she was missing pants)Sharing an apple with Daddy...My two pirates... "arrrrgh"
Second only to the joy in laying eyes on our sweet baby boy myself, will be the joy that comes in watching their faces light-up at the sight of their long-awaited baby brother. "What's his name" (as he is affectionately known), is in for one wild ride! They are really gonna love you, baby boy! They already do!

Love this so much. You have two truly amazing munchkins and I know that "What's his name" will be just as amazing. I'm always in awe of the calmness you hold with both of them all the time...a true testament to the people they are and will continue to be. Hugs to you these last few weeks!
