A long awaited day...

Trevor will be playing indoor soccer next month! His daddy has been waiting for this day since before Trevor was born. Nathan grew up playing soccer with the same group of guys, some of them all the way through college. I'm pretty sure they started playing together at age four. Our local "Y" has a really cool program where they feature one month of a designated sport on a trial basis for the little guys. It teaches them the basics of the sport, and helps give mom and dad an idea of whether soccer, or T-ball, or basketball is really a good idea. So far, Trevor is incredibly excited about it and decided to practice some skills with mommy after naps yesterday.

After he'd celebrated several goals* he turned to me....

"Mommy! I need a bow!"
"You need a what?"
"A bow! A circle one, a blue one!".... (Mommy's wheels turning)...
"Oh! I know what you mean, let me make one for you..."
"Mommy, take a picture of my blue bow."
"Trevor? Where did you learn about the blue bow?"
"Diego, Mom."

I love how serious he is about his "accomplishment"

*A "goal" is defined as kicking the ball under the kitchen table. All goals must be celebrated with arms in the air, and high fives.

Awesome program! I love how much Diego and Dora can teach kids. My kids are so much smarter thanks to sweet Dora. Go Trevor!

You are the most fun Mom!!! I would never have the supplies to make a blue bow on the spot like that! I'm going to have to check with our Y to see if they offer anything similar...what a great idea!
