Beach Bum Practice...

Who needs a sandbox at home when there is a sand volleyball court within walking distance? Not us.

This Spring, we have spent a LOT of time at the little park near our house, and the sand is always a huge attraction. Soon, we'll be flying (gasp!) to California to visit family, so I guess you could say they're in training for the beach. It was a miserable 90 degrees today. Yes, I said miserable, and yes, I know I live in Texas where 90 degrees will soon feel like a crisp cool day. But today, I wasn't ready for hot. We lasted only about 45 minutes before retreating to the shade. I'm a whimpy Texan. So far the kids show no signs of whimpy-ness. They would've stayed out there until their cheeks were as red as Tatum's hat.

This sweet kid is becoming more of a little man every day. Today, in the car, a hot little white convertible drove by and Trevor said "Follow that Porsche, Mommy!" Absolutely son, that hot rod's got nothin' on my swagger-wagon. Don't ya'll love those commercials?

And here is Tatum accessorizing. The bag is as big as she is...even so, she loved it. She also loves her little sparkly shoes... they look like this.... and today, she brought them to me and asked "Mommy... a shoes... on?" That's right! She said her first sentence. I love, love, love watching my babies become people. It's one of the coolest things on the planet.

And this little person right here? Well, he carries his cup under his arm like this everywhere he goes. It's one of those things I know in a year or two, I'll look at and think about how little he was and how trademark Trevor that little cup under his arm was.

It was a good-ol' average day. It's the kind of day we've repeated about 87 times this Spring. In fact, I haven't posted much lately, because it seemed this was pretty much all we'd been up to. Today I realized that each of those 87 days are just a blink of an eye and I'd better start making note of it before these lazy hazy days are gone.

Trevor + Charlie= lifelong happiness. She carries her drink like that everywhere she goes. Everywhere.

Love Tatum's shoes and the fact that she asks for which ones she likes. GIRLS AND SHOES. Wow boys and girls are different!

Excited to see ya'll!

Your story is our story...the park almost every day. We were there today, too...and it was HOT! We came home napped and then got the ball out from last summer that shoots water. For Ryder it was just as big of a hit as it was last summer. Rustin wasn't so sure of it! I've got some pics I'll post tomorrow!

I love Tatum in those little red shoes! They are so, so cute! Trevor is looking all grown up! I know they are supposed to grow up, I just wish they would do it a little more slowly!
