Sew, sew fun...

For my birthday, I bought a sewing machine. With the possible exception of the cushion covers for Tatum's glider, I have NEVER sewn anything in my life. Even still, the idea of sewing seemed fun...so I thought I'd give it a shot! I decided to try my hand at making a dress for Tatum. The design is pretty simple. I didn't really know how to go about finding a pattern, so I basically drew the shapes with pencil on the fabric and cut them out. To be honest...I'm shocked it resembles a dress at all!

And of course, I had to have her model it. This was taken first thing this morning...before she even had breakfast...before I'd had a chance to sew the buttons (it's literally draped over her shoulders here.)

I think I'll mark it down as a success... at least for a first try!

I'll get in touch with you about layer in the week...if all are well by tomorrow we should be safe for later this week. I know I wrote on FB something else but after thinking about it I think it's fine. Did you get signed up for mom to mom?
