Backyard Bliss...

We had one of those weekends... one where we'd had so much fun that come Sunday, we all barely made it through church without a torrential downpour of tears and tantrums. The upside to an on-the-edge Sunday is the almost guaranteed glorious, overdue nap time. In this case, Tatum out-scored her brother, 3 hours to 2. This gave mom a chance to sweep up debris (ie: toys and laundry) and dad the chance to mow the lawn. When evening rolled around, we found ourselves with 2 content kiddos, a nice breeze, and some green grass that beckoned us all outside.

Trevor had been waiting as patiently as a nearly-2-year old can for his daddy to finish some work in the garage and join him outside. There he was, playing happily in his little house when he heard a noise...

"Daddy?!" (busts out the door and heads toward the sound)... And he parks himself here:You would have thought he'd caught sight of Lightning McQueen himself... but no, it was Daddy, and today (like most days) Daddy trumps even "Queen."

About this time, I'd laid a blanket down for Tatum to join in the fun. When Trevor saw her, he plopped down beside her. I thought it was cute...she thought it was funny.

Trevor, never one to disappoint an audience, starts to dance in front of her. Tatum is beside herself...big belly laughs.

Trevor can't get enough, and begins to think... "Man, that paci is really getting in the way of some good laughs... maybe if I smile and move quickly, I can get it away from her..."

And here he is...paci in hand. I've said nothing to scold him...but even still, his eyes tell the story. I have a feeling had I held a mirror to my face at that moment, my expression would have looked exactly like THIS:

That stinker.
But wow... it was a great night. I absolutely cannot wait for the weather to become cooler. I have a feeling we'll be spending a LOT of time outside.
