Double diaper duty can sometimes become overwhelming on any day of the week. Add in a little vomiting and more than a handful of explosive toddler-sized diapers and "double-duty" becomes enough to make a mommy throw in the towel. Thankfully, and I really can't emphasize "thankful" enough, today happened to be Saturday! Saturday meant double duty was actually NOT double at all...because Daddy was home!
Long story short...Tatum woke up today with a vomiting problem. Anyone who knows Trevor (and is beginning to know Tatum) knows that our household is well versed in all things "spit-up." It takes a LOT to overwhelm us when it comes to soiled bibs and burp cloths. We've earned some "cred" in that department. So... trust me when I say it was a "vomiting" problem and not just a little cute baby spit. I'm happy to report that after a day of prescribed parent-torture (otherwise known as: pedialyte only....one teaspoon, every ten minutes)... Tatum is much, much better. In fact, at around 7:00pm, she had her first formula bottle and is now sleeping soundly.
HOWEVER, as the afternoon progressed and Tatum began to feel better, our little TNT began to feel much worse. Let's just say we went through at least four full wardrobe changes today as a result of his tummy troubles. He has no appetite...and refused ALL of his favorite starchy foods. For dinner, he had two helpings of infant cereal...which I fed to him. I guess comfort foods are still the ones you ate "when you were little," even if "when you were little" means when you were 4 months old. We're hoping he wakes up feeling better in the morning... he's usually such a happy little guy. There is nothing more heart-breaking than watching him when he's sick. Seriously...it's like watching Mickey Mouse have a mental breakdown- it just ain't right!
Oh, and it rained today...I'm pretty sure those pesky tornado sirens went off at some point...but to be honest, we were too busy to care. Today was such a gross, dirty, icky, day... that this actually seemed like a perfectly sanitary activity:
Yes... he was sick, but he was also stir-crazy. The boy loves rain, and "big thunder," and more than all of that...he loves puddles. There happened to be one right outside our front door, and it had Trevor's name ALL over it...

These pictures are precious! Hope everyone is feeling better! I need to figure out how to fix a blog where it will still be followed in my dashboard once it goes private. You and one of my other close friend's from college now have their blogs private and once the switch took place, I no longer get the updates. Let me know if you have any answers for me there!
