Tatum Lane...

Today, my beautiful baby girl is 3 MONTHS old! I remember when she was about 2 weeks old, I had the thought (or maybe developed the mantra): "Heather, it's okay...this isn't so bad...you can do this." I'm happy to say, that at the close of the first quarter, I remain equally optimistic. Tatum is by FAR, the easiest. baby. ever! I know, I know... It's stupid to say that... this time next year, she'll probably be throwing tantrums like the world has never seen. Heck, next month even. That's okay, this is about her being 3 months, and at 3 months, she's the perfect baby.

I haven't opened her baby book, much less written anything in it, since she was born. So for the sake of her history, I'll share a few little milestones and tidbits here:

Tatum, at 3 months, you are a rock star and here is why:
  • You have never cried once when I put you down for a nap. When you get tired, you fuss a little, I wrap you in a swaddle, give you your paci and you fall to sleep sweetly while I carry you upstairs to your room. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
  • You are super strong and alert. You've figured out you're not the only young one in the room and watch your brother's every move. I figure you're either taking mental notes for a book you'll write one day, or planning your attack for the minute you become mobile.

  • You're stunningly beautiful and sweet. Your daddy tells me all the time "she's so pretty."

  • You have a smile than turns my heart inside out and sometimes, you throw in a giggle that makes mommy swoon.

  • You are a big girl, with looong legs. You're already wearing some size 6-month clothes!

  • At night, you're doing pretty well too! Daddy feeds you at 10:30 or so and you go right back to sleep until almost 7:00! Lately, when I've come to get you in the morning, you flash that million dollar smile that makes me melt. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

  • Trevor is falling in love with you. He likes for you to sit in your bouncy seat in the kitchen so he can talk to you while he eats lunch. He likes to play with you in the room and really doesn't like it when I take you upstairs for a nap during his playtime. When I walk you upstairs to go to sleep, he almost always tells you "nigh, nigh Tay Tay" and "Wuv You."

It's hard to imagine life without you Tatum Lane! You've already brought such a beauty and a grace to our home that we never even knew was missing!

Oh my goodness!!! All I can say...she is so beautiful!!! I am so glad God blessed you with her and has made transitioning from being a Mom of one baby to being a Mom of two babies so easy for you!!

It is awesome to have a Daddy that gives that last feeding, too! That saved me with Ryder...I was in bed by 8:00 every night, LOL!
