It's Sinking In!...

We had our first OB appointment on Tuesday (06/03/08) and found out everything looks great with "Deuce." To our delight, and to be honest- RELIEF!... we learned for sure that there is only one baby! It's amazing how a sonogram can make things suddenly real. Sure, I've been dealing with the extreme fatigue and the joys of "morning" sickness... but it hadn't begun to sink in whatsoever that we're pregnant again! Now every time I look at this sonogram picture I think, "you've GOT to be kidding me! I am actually pregnant!?" Okay... so I'm evidently a little slow to catch on.

I can certainly see how this pregnancy is going to fly by compared to the last one... I barely have time to think about being pregnant! I remember getting those babycenter emails saying what was happening with the baby last time around- boy, I hung on every word. This time, my inbox gets hit with "Your Seven Month Old" and "You're Seven weeks Prego" at the same time and the prego email goes strait to the trash. It's not that I'm disinterested, I just haven't forgotten from the first go-round and the info is still fresh in my mind! The pregnancy books were never re-shelved (seriously- they have been sitting on our side table in our living room!), the safe medication list was still handy, and maternity clothes have been hanging at the front of my closet!

Now, it's time to start researching the gear I'll need to wrangle two babies at once. I have been looking for a double stroller that will be compatible with our like-new infant seat/ travel system that we used for Trevor. To my dismay, there are not many products available...I've found one, but I'm still searching. I went to BabiesRUs yesterday to do some looking and realized our "travel system" was no longer in stock... in fact, no other color, or style of our system was on the shelves. I asked the sales person and found out they were asked to take all of them off the shelves, and did not yet know why. So- who knows, maybe there is major defect in our system and we'll have to buy a new one anyway! They said to check the internet or call the store in a week or so. (Oh, and Allison- I've seen in your pics you have the same exact one we do... Chicco Cortina is the one I'm talkin' about!) Any advice on the double stroller conundrum would be appreciated!

NOTE: I did some internet research after drafting this post and found the recall for the car seat- click HERE.

I saw the recall stuff a few days ago, but our babies are too old to be affected. That's sad, right? lol. (I mean, our seats were made before the problematic batch).

I'm soooo excited for you guys, Heather! Do you have any "feelings" as to whether "Deuce" is a boy or a girl? Take care of yourself!

I have also been looking a double strollers. Here's what I have found out from research and other double mommies. Double joggers are an investment, but you can use them until the kids are 4 or 5. Bob makes a great one and you can get a simple attachment that makes most infant carriers compatible.

For everyday use, BabyTrend makes a stroller that seats two, and allows the carrier to snap in. I believe its called the sit and stand.

Caleb is a little older, so I think we are going with joovy caboose, that basicly has seat/snap in option and a bench with a seatbelt.
Hope this helps!
